Description

This early 20th-century mantel clock is designed in the classic Napoleon hat or tambour style. The case is constructed from oak with a prominent arched top and a stepped rectangular base. Decorative features include a beaded border surrounding the dial, carved triangular accents at the corners, and a repeating foliate carved frieze along the lower edge of the base. The clock stands on four small wooden bun feet. The circular silvered dial is set with black Arabic numerals, a closed minute track, and two winding arbors. It is protected by a hinged brass bezel with flat glass. The internal mechanical twin-train movement strikes on a coiled wire gong and retains its pendulum. Stamped markings are visible on the movement backplate but are not clear enough to confirm a specific manufacturer.

Base width: Approximately 430mm.
