Description
An Art Deco electric mantel clock manufactured by Siemens. The clock features a stepped or tiered wooden case with a polished veneer finish, possibly walnut. The square chrome-finished bezel houses a circular dial consisting of a white outer chapter ring with applied black baton hour indices and a grey central section. The hands are black and include a sweep seconds hand. The dial is centrally marked with the Siemens name and interlocking S logo, and FOREIGN is printed at the bottom edge. The reverse movement housing is marked with the VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik) logo and bears the German instruction Hebel niederdrücken dann loslassen, indicating a manual-start synchronous motor. The clock is fitted with a braided fabric power cord and a two-pin plug.
