A Glazed Pottery Character Jug in the Style of Royal Doulton

A glazed earthenware character jug, moulded in the form of a bearded man’s head. The figure is depicted with thick grey eyebrows, a prominent nose, and a full grey beard and moustache, wearing a green Tyrolean-style hat. The handle is moulded into the shape of a curved hunting horn. The item features hand-painted overglaze decoration in a palette of green, brown, grey, and flesh tones. While the form and subject matter are reminiscent of mid-20th-century character jugs produced by British potteries such as Royal Doulton or Beswick, no factory marks are visible on the base. The underside features a partially removed white paper label with the printed characters 70711.
