Description
A promotional beer tankard for the Whitbread brewery, constructed from white glazed ceramic. The front of the vessel features a central transfer-printed emblem depicting the brewery traditional hind’s head crest in profile. This is enclosed within a circular border inscribed with the text Brewers of fine beers since 1742. The emblem is set against a square red field with a gold-coloured border, topped with black decorative scrollwork. Below the main graphic, a red banner displays the name WHITBREAD in white serif lettering, accompanied by a small square icon containing a numeral 1 and a vessel silhouette. The tankard features a flared base and a simple loop handle. Decorative gold-coloured gilt bands are applied to the rim and the base, with a single gilt stripe on the upper surface of the handle. No maker’s marks are visible on the base.
