Description
This item is a mid-20th-century glazed ceramic planter from the Hornsea Pottery Fauna series. The piece features a stylized anthropomorphic rabbit figure positioned at the base of a hollowed-out tree stump. The stump is decorated with relief-molded bark texture, green leaves, and yellow knots. The interior of the stump is hollowed to serve as a small planter or posy vase. The base of the item features molded, embossed characters including the shape number 27, the manufacturer name HORNSEA, and the country of origin ENGLAND. Hornsea Pottery was based in Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, and the Fauna range was produced during the 1950s and 1960s. A one pound coin is visible in the images for scale.
