Description
This large, lidded glass bonbonniere is crafted from clear glass using a press-cut technique characteristic of late 19th and early 20th-century production. The piece consists of a deep circular bowl and a matching high-domed lid. The decoration features a combination of frosted acid-etched medallions containing rose motifs, interspersed with panels of diamond-point hobnail and cross-cut patterns. These decorative elements are framed by sweeping foliate scrolls and geometric borders. The lid is surmounted by a tall, faceted spire finial. Both the rim of the lid and the rim of the bowl feature a fine scalloped sawtooth edge. The bowl is raised on three integral scrolled feet. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
