Description
This collection of cream-coloured earthenware tableware is in the Moss Rose pattern produced by Wedgwood. Each piece features a central transfer-printed design of red roses and green foliage. The ceramic bodies are characterised by a raised, fluted border design. The set consists of various items including dinner plates, salad plates, flanged soup bowls, teacups with saucers, an oval open serving bowl, a small round bowl, and a pin dish. The reverse of the pieces bears a black printed backstamp: MOSS ROSE, OF ETRURIA WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND & BARLASTON, Decoration under-glaze, Detergent proof. This mark is associated with Wedgwood production at the Barlaston factory in Staffordshire, England, dating from the mid-20th century.
