Description
A pair of English bone china posy vases manufactured by Coalport in the Shrewsbury pattern. Each vase is constructed with a flared rim featuring a scalloped edge, a short waisted neck, and a compressed-spherical lower body set upon a fluted pedestal foot. The exterior is decorated with a central transfer-printed floral bouquet featuring a prominent pink rose, a white anemone-style flower, and smaller purple and blue blossoms with green foliage against a white glazed ground. The base of each vase bears a magenta printed factory backstamp including a crown symbol above the words BONE CHINA and COALPORT, followed by MADE IN ENGLAND, EST. 1750, and the pattern name SHREWSBURY.
