Description
A collection of 3 lithographed tinplate storage tins produced to commemorate the wedding of HRH Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer on 29th July 1981. The tins feature a graduating nesting design with a rectangular form. Each vessel is decorated with a central oval photographic portrait of the royal couple set against a background of diagonal red, white, and blue stripes. The removable lids bear matching striped decoration and the commemorative inscription: TO COMMEMORATE THE WEDDING OF THE CENTURY 29TH JULY, 1981 LADY DIANA SPENCER TO H.R.H. PRINCE CHARLES. The interiors are finished with a gold-tone coating. No specific manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
