Description
A collection of five UK cupro-nickel coins featuring a 1953 Coronation Crown, two half crowns dated 1948 and 1958, a 1953 shilling, and a 1953 sixpence. The 1953 crown features the Elizabeth II equestrian obverse and cruciform shields reverse. The 1948 half crown features the George VI obverse and the 1958 half crown features the Elizabeth II Mary Gillick obverse; both reverses depict crowned shields of arms. The 1953 shilling displays the English reverse with three lions, and the 1953 sixpence features an intertwined floral reverse. All pieces are struck in cupro-nickel. The 1953 crown was issued as a one-year commemorative for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
