Wedgwood Peter Rabbit Beatrix Potter Nursery Ware Child's Bowl

A Wedgwood glazed earthenware child’s shallow bowl from the Peter Rabbit series. The centre features a transfer-printed illustration after Beatrix Potter, depicting Peter Rabbit in a blue jacket being pursued by Mr. McGregor with a rake. The wide, sloping rim is decorated with black serif text reading: But round the end of a cucumber frame, whom should he meet but Mr. McGregor! he jumped up and ran after Peter, waving a rake and calling out, ‘Stop thief!’ The base bears transfer-printed marks including an arched mark for of ETRURIA & BARLASTON surrounding WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND with a registered trademark symbol. Additional text reads Copyright Frederick Warne & Co. Beatrix Potter Designs ™ PETER RABBIT ™. A small numerical mark 58 is also present.
