Two Art of Chokin Style Porcelain Vases

This lot comprises two porcelain vases of flattened globular form, decorated in the Art of Chokin style. Each vessel features a central circular medallion set within a gilded border. The larger vase is finished in a white glaze and depicts a scene of irises and butterflies. The smaller vase is finished in a black glaze and depicts a Japanese landscape featuring a pagoda, trees, and mountains. Both vases have narrow oval mouths and gilded rims. Small, indistinct characters are present within the medallions.
