Description

A late 19th or early 20th-century art glass vase of squat, shouldered form with a short neck and a flared rim. The vessel is constructed from an opaque ivory-coloured glass. It features extensive acid-etched gold decoration, depicting a continuous meadow scene around the body with various grasses, wildflowers, and butterflies. The neck and upper shoulder are further embellished with gilded bands. The style is characteristic of English art glass from the late Victorian period, resembling the Queens Ivory range produced by makers such as Thomas Webb and Sons. No maker marks are visible on the exterior.

Height 115mm, Diameter 140mm.
