A novelty glazed earthenware teapot manufactured by Price Brothers (Price Kensington) in England. The piece is part of the Cottage Ware range, often referred to as Ye Olde Cottage, and is modelled in the form of a thatched cottage. The design features a removable lid forming part of the roof with a chimney-style finial. The spout and handle are textured and coloured to resemble gnarled wood or tree branches. The hand-painted decoration includes an ochre-coloured thatched roof, white-walled elevations with brown-framed windows, a central door, and climbing green foliage. The base bears a green printed mark within a laurel wreath reading PRICE KENSINGTON, followed by MADE IN ENGLAND, COTTAGE WARE, and Reg. No. 845007.
