Mid-20th Century Pope Pius XII Devotional Wall Plaque with Medal

A mid-20th century religious devotional memento and wall plaque featuring a monochrome oval photographic portrait of Pope Pius XII, who reigned from 1939 to 1958. The portrait is set within a mandorla-shaped cream card mount, bordered by an elaborate white decorative lace trim of crocheted or tinsel-work construction. At the apex of the mount is a small, oval white-metal devotional medal depicting the Virgin Mary, bearing the inscription REGINA PACIS ORA PRO NOBIS. The photographic portrait is inscribed PIUS XII PONT MAX at the lower edge. The entire assembly is mounted onto a larger square card backing, finished with a silk ribbon bow and a twisted cord for hanging.
