A 1935 King George V and Queen Mary Silver Jubilee Daily Dispatch Birthday Club Commemorative Medal

A white metal commemorative medal issued by the Manchester-based Daily Dispatch newspaper to mark the 1935 Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary. The medal also commemorates the founding of the newspaper’s Birthday Club during the same year. The obverse features the conjoined profile busts of the King and Queen facing left, inscribed KING GEORGE and QUEEN MARY with the dates 1910 and 1935 at the base. The reverse displays a central crown and sunburst motif above the inscription FOUNDED IN THE ROYAL JUBILEE YEAR 1935, with the outer border inscribed DAILY DISPATCH BIRTHDAY CLUB. The item is fitted with a circular suspension ring and a steel safety pin for wear as a badge.
