Lot 295:
Description
This lot consists of 7 items of military memorabilia and ephemera focusing on the history of The King’s Regiment (Liverpool) and the commemoration of the Korean War (1950-1953). The collection includes a high-quality United Nations bullion badge embroidered in gold wire on black felt, and a United States of America 50th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration patch dated 2000-2003. Ceramic and glass items include a two-handled regimental loving cup featuring the White Horse of Hanover and an etched glass tankard for the British Korean Veterans Association (BKVA) Manchester Branch, dated 1996. Printed ephemera includes a Liverpool Echo supplement detailing the regimental history from 1685 to 2006, alongside a pair of Those Who Served illustrated coasters. These items represent the late 20th-century efforts to preserve the heritage of the Liverpool-based unit and the service of those in the Far East, honouring the veterans of the conflict.
