Bay Keramik Large Floor Vase, Mid-Century Modern, Embossed Floral Bands and Fat Lava Glaze

A large ceramic floor vase produced by Bay Keramik, West Germany, circa 1970. The vessel features a cylindrical form with a short neck and flared rim. The exterior decoration is composed of alternating horizontal registers, including tan matte-finished bands with embossed six-petaled floral motifs and bands of dark brown high-gloss fat lava style mottled glaze. The base is marked in relief with the manufacturer name BAY, the origin W.-GERMANY, and the model and size numbers 660-40. Height: approximately 40 cm.
