A Royal Copenhagen Ceramic Mother's Day Plate Mother Cat and Her Young One 1983

A Royal Copenhagen ceramic collector’s plate from the Mother’s Day series, dated 1983. The piece features a fine blue underglaze decoration depicting a mother cat and her kitten, titled Mother Cat and Her Young One (Danish: Kat med killing), after a design by Sven Vestergaard. The central scene is framed by a decorative floral and foliate border rendered in tonal shades of blue. The reverse bears the standard green Royal Copenhagen crown factory mark, the company’s signature three blue wavy lines, artist initials zz, and the year 1983. The plate is designed for display with two pre-drilled holes in the foot rim through which a hanging string is threaded. Diameter: approximately 15.5 cm.
