Unmarked, Pair of Laurel and Hardy Figural Ceramic Coin Banks, Late 20th Century

A lot comprising two hand-painted ceramic figural coin banks depicting the legendary comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. The Oliver Hardy figure is portrayed in a red jacket with a blue floral tie, while the Stan Laurel figure wears a green jacket paired with a polka-dot tie. Both characters are depicted in their signature black bowler hats. These items are constructed from moulded ceramic and feature horizontal coin slots positioned on the upper back of each figure. The bases are fitted with translucent plastic stoppers for coin retrieval. These pieces are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century character memorabilia produced for the novelty giftware market.
