Metamec, Compass Style Wall Clock, 1960s

A mid-century modern starburst or compass style wall clock manufactured by Metamec of Dereham, England. The clock features a battery-powered electromechanical movement, designed to be powered by a single C-cell battery. The main body is constructed of black plastic, housed within a decorative brass-toned metal outer ring. This outer ring is accented with four prominent compass-style points at the cardinal positions and smaller spherical details. The circular dial presents a two-tone aesthetic, comprising a white centre section and a wide, brushed gold-toned chapter ring. It is set with black Arabic numerals and baton markers, featuring tapered brass-toned hour and minute hands alongside a thin black sweeping second hand. The face is protected by a convex crystal.
