Mid-20th Century Bentima Oak Mantel Clock with Perivale Westminster Chime Movement

A mid-20th-century mantel clock of tambour or Napoleon Hat form. The wooden case, finished in oak veneers, features a curved upper profile and a stepped base with a central carved foliate scroll motif to the front rail. The circular silvered dial is signed Bentima and marked Made in England, featuring black Roman numerals, a minute track, and three winding apertures. It is housed behind a glazed chrome-plated bezel with black spade-tipped hands. The internal mechanical spring-driven movement is stamped with the trademark for the Perivale Clock Manufacturing Co., including a figure with a trident and the text All British Clocks. The movement is fitted with a five-rod gong assembly for Westminster chimes, striking on the quarters and the hour. The pendulum bob is present but detached from the movement.
