UK & Guernsey 1978-2001, Royal Mail PHQ Postcard Collection, Unused

A collection of Royal Mail PHQ (Postal Headquarters) postcards featuring enlarged colour reproductions of postage stamp designs from the United Kingdom and Guernsey. The cards depict the original stamp designs in full, including simulated perforated edges and the Machin head silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II. Represented issues include the 1978 25th Anniversary of the Coronation (The Sovereign’s Orb, 11p, SG 1058 design), the 1980 Christmas series (14p and 22p, SG 1136 and 1139 designs), the 1985 Arthurian Legend issue (17p, SG 1297 design), the 1991 Scientific Achievements issue featuring Charles Darwin (19.5p, SG 1541 design), the 1993 £10 Britannia high-value definitive (SG 1658 design), and the 2001 Cats and Dogs issue (1st class, SG 2190 design). Also included are Guernsey issues, notably a portrait of Princess Diana (8p). The reverse of the cards displays printed descriptive text, designer attributions, issue dates, and Royal Mail copyright information. The postcards are in an unposted and unaddressed state.
