Description

A vintage Amstrad Fidelity SRD400 analog satellite television receiver, dating from the early 1990s. The unit features a black moulded plastic casing with a ventilated top. The front panel includes a digital channel display on the right and a horizontal VideoCrypt smart card slot marked Insert Card. Control buttons include Standby, TV/SAT, Recall, Audio, Preset, Tuning (up/down), H/V Select, Channel (up/down), and Authorise.

The rear panel is equipped with various connection points including an LNB IN F-type connector, a PAL/MAC toggle switch, and RCA outputs for Baseband Out and Stereo Audio Out (R and L). It also features a single SCART (Peritel) socket, RF IN and RF OUT Belling-Lee connectors, a Test Signal switch, and a channel adjustment screw. A fixed power cable with a standard UK three-pin plug is attached.

Manufacturer markings on the underside label identify the model as SRD400, manufactured by Amstrad Fidelity in Japan. Technical specifications include a 240V ~ 50Hz mains supply and 40W power consumption. The serial number is recorded as F N50010191. A circular sticker indicates the unit is MFR’S Version E. This receiver was historically used for receiving Sky’s analog satellite service in the United Kingdom.
