Description

A collection of British silver-plated table service items and flatware. The group includes a Victorian style sugar scuttle with a pedestal base and fixed overhead handle, featuring a body decorated with chased floral and foliate scrollwork. Also present is a large serving berry spoon with a gilded bowl decorated with repousse fruit and a chased handle. The assortment contains multiple serving spoons and smaller spoons in Fiddle and Old English patterns, alongside a selection of serving knives including a fish knife and a butter knife. Further items include several pickle or cocktail forks with various decorative handles, a pair of cast metal nutcrackers, and a pair of sugar tongs. Detailed marks visible on the sugar scuttle include EPBM, MADE IN ENGLAND, and a single letter N. EPBM denotes Electro-Plated Britannia Metal, a common base alloy for British silver-plated wares of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
