Lot 59:
Description
A polished cross-section of an agate nodule, characterised by rich concentric banding in shades of deep carnelian red, sienna, and dark chocolate brown. The specimen features a central vug, or cavity, filled with a crystalline druzy quartz interior, showing a granular, light-catching texture. The piece has been professionally cut with a flat base, allowing it to stand upright for display. The front face is polished to a high gloss, while the reverse and sides retain the natural, rough, earthy texture of the host rock rind. Visually, the specimen shares characteristics with agates found in regions such as Mexico and Argentina, though no specific locality label is present.
Width: approximately 115 mm
Height: approximately 100 mm.
