Description
A colour offset lithograph reproduction print after an original work by Tom Riley, depicting a busy historical street scene of the Market Hall in Darwen, Lancashire. The composition shows figures in late Victorian or Edwardian dress amongst horse-drawn carts and market stalls, with the town’s prominent Market Hall and its distinctive clock tower as the backdrop. The work features a printed signature ‘Tom Riley’ in the lower-left corner and is titled ‘Market Hall, Darwen.’ in script below the image. To the lower right is a copyright mark for ‘T.R.A. Publications’ and a secondary printed signature within the image itself. The print is presented in a dark tortoiseshell-effect wood frame with a gilt inner slip and a cream-coloured double mount.
