A Vintage Staunton Pattern Chess Set and Board with Storage Boxes

A vintage tabletop chess and games set featuring Staunton pattern pieces and a chequered board. The set consists of turned wood pieces in natural and ebonised finishes, including kings with cross finials, queens with coronets, and horses’ head knights. Several pieces are fitted with green felted bases. The square board is made of printed board with cream and dark brown squares, finished with a decorative gold-coloured patterned border. Two storage containers are included: a rectangular wooden box with a dark-stained sliding lid and a long gold-coloured cardboard box with a central divider. Two flat circular game counters in natural and dark wood are also present.
