An Enfield Clock Co. Art Deco Wood Cased Westminster Chime Mantel Clock. Non Working

A mid-20th-century British tambour-style mantel clock manufactured by the Enfield Clock Co. (London) Ltd. The wooden case is finished with decorative figured veneers, likely walnut, featuring a characteristic arched top and stepped shoulders resting on small bracket feet. The dial comprises a circular silvered chapter ring with black stylised Arabic numerals, marked Enfield below the 12 o’clock position and Made in England at the bottom edge. The centre of the dial is inlaid with wood veneer matching the exterior case. The clock is powered by a three-train, spring-driven mechanical movement with three winding apertures located on the dial. The rear brass plate of the movement is stamped with the manufacturer’s mark ENFIELD CLOCK CO (LONDON) LTD and MADE IN ENGLAND. The striking mechanism features five hammers and five horizontal gong rods, indicative of a Westminster chime. The dial is protected by a hinged glass bezel in a brass frame.
