A Pair of Danbury Mint Porcelain Collector Plates and Four Ceramic Cat Figurines

This lot features a pair of fine porcelain collector plates produced by the Danbury Mint and four miniature ceramic cat figurines. The plates belong to the Simon Mendez’s Black Cats exclusive collection and feature the work of artist Simon Mendez. Each porcelain plate is finished with a 22ct gold-rimmed edge and transfer-printed with a realistic depiction of a black cat in a natural setting. The first plate, titled Dandelion Daze, shows a black cat with amber eyes surrounded by dandelions and yellow buttercups. The second plate, titled In the Clover, depicts a black cat with green-gold eyes reclining in clover and pink wild roses. Both plates bear a full descriptive backstamp on the reverse confirming the collection, artist, and Danbury Mint branding, alongside the instruction that they are for decorative use only. The four ceramic figurines are finished with a high-gloss glaze and depict kittens in various lifelike poses. These include one ginger and white tabby playing with a red ball of wool, and three grey and black tabbies in sitting, standing, and reclining positions.
