A Pair of Framed Horological Collages by G. Burgess of St. Ives Made from watch and clock parts

A pair of framed horological collages constructed from vintage watch and clock components, attributed to G. Burgess of St. Ives. The first collage, titled Slow Time, depicts a steam traction engine composed of brass gears, movement plates, and cogs, featuring a watch dial signed Lucerne. The mount is inscribed in ink G. Burgess – St. Ives. The second collage represents a Guardsman with a small dog, with the figure’s face formed by a black watch dial marked Continental. This piece includes a functional clock in the upper corner with a gold-toned chapter ring and Roman numerals. Both pieces are set in matching gold-finished ornate frames with foliate scroll mouldings. The reverse of both items features labels for the Burgess Studio and Burgess Gallery, St. Ives, Cornwall. The second item contains a battery-operated quartz movement by 938 Quartz, Made in West Germany.
