A collection of early 20th-century shellac gramophone records, primarily 78rpm, featuring popular music, orchestral selections, and dance band recordings from the 1920s and 1930s. The lot is notable for the inclusion of numerous original period paper retailer sleeves from dealers based in the Lancashire area, specifically T. Croasdale of Every St. and Pendle St., Nelson; Thomas Pollard Ltd. of 13 Market Street, Burnley and 56 Manchester Road, Nelson; and F. De Luce and Co. of Prospect Buildings, Cross Street, Centre Aisle, Market Hall, Nelson. Record labels identified in the collection include Columbia, Regal Zonophone, Regal, and His Master’s Voice (HMV). Specific recordings visible include The Gold Diggers of Broadway – Selection, Part 1 performed by the Regal Cinema Orchestra (Columbia 9912); In the Valley of the Moon by Billy Reid and the London Piano Accordion Band (Regal Zonophone MR 982); Chorus Hits of Yesterday Part 1 by The Jolly Old Fellows (Regal G9324); and All of Me – Fox-Trot by Ambrose and His Orchestra (HMV B 6138).
