A Pair of Briar Wood Tobacco Pipes by Stanford and Plumb

A pair of estate tobacco smoking pipes featuring dark reddish-brown briar wood bowls and black stems. The first pipe is of a bent billiard form and is stamped on the shank with the maker’s mark Stanford over Bolton. The second pipe features a more bulbous, rounded bowl and a straight stem; the shank is stamped Genuine over Briar and the stem is marked with the name Plumb accompanied by a characteristic small red circular dot inlay. Both pipes are constructed with polished briar bowls showing natural grain patterns and are fitted with black composite mouthpieces.
