Academy Collection Native American Chief on Horseback Figurine

Identified as part of the Academy Collection, reference number 17/3521, this figurine depicts a Native American chief in full ceremonial regalia seated upon a horse. The figure is shown wearing an ornate feathered war bonnet in shades of red, white, and black, and holds a ceremonial pipe or calumet. The figure is mounted on a white horse with a dark-painted mane and tail. The entire scene is set upon a sculpted, rocky-terrain-style base, which is further mounted on a dark, rectangular plinth. The piece is crafted from cold-cast resin with a polychrome, hand-painted finish, featuring detailed fringing on the clothing and dappled textures on the horse. The underside of the plinth bears two stickers: one featuring the Academy logo of a classical temple and another with the text ACADEMY REF.NO.17/3521 above a barcode numbered 5 025225 735211.
