Description
A small ceramic character vessel or Toby jug depicting a seated gentleman in 18th-century costume. The figure is modelled wearing a deep cobalt blue frock coat with gilded accents, an orange waistcoat with hand-painted black dot detailing, and white breeches. The head is topped with a black-trimmed white tricorne hat which forms the rim and pouring spout of the vessel. A white loop handle is attached to the rear of the figure. The face is decorated with hand-painted features. The item is finished with a high-gloss glaze. There are no visible maker’s marks or factory stamps on the base or body.
