A vintage Crown model 5TV-525R portable unit produced by the Crown Radio Corporation, Japan. This solid state device features an integrated IC transistor system, combining a monochrome television receiver with a two-band FM/AM radio. The unit is housed in a black moulded plastic cabinet with a chrome-finished metal carry handle that functions as a stand. The front fascia displays dual circular analogue tuning dials, one for radio bands and another for UHF television frequencies. Additional controls include rotary knobs for volume and tuning, a sliding power switch, and a band selector. The side panel contains an earphone jack and a mode selector for radio or television output. The rear of the unit includes a telescopic rod antenna and a storage compartment for the mains power lead, which is fitted with a white UK three-pin plug. A British Electrotechnical Approvals Board sticker is present, indicating the unit was manufactured for the UK market.
