Description
This 20th-century decorative still life by G. Stricker is executed in oil on board. The composition depicts a profusion of white and yellow roses arranged within a wooden bucket, set against the backdrop of an open window with pale shutters. The work features prominent impasto highlights on the flower petals, indicating the use of a palette knife to create a thick, tactile texture, while the surrounding elements are rendered with broader, flatter brushstrokes. The painting is signed G. Stricker in the lower centre. It is presented in a heavy, ornate gilt-composition frame decorated with scrolling acanthus leaf and shell motifs at the corners and centres.
