Lot 129:
Description
A hand-blown glass lidded vessel, attributed to Empoli, Italy, dating from the mid-20th century. The piece is designed as a footed apothecary jar or bonbonniere, crafted in a translucent olive green glass that transitions to a dense, opaque black at the globular finial. The lid is decorated with an applied clear glass border featuring a crimped or pincered edge. The vessel is supported by a clear glass stem with a twisted rib design, terminating in a wide, circular foot. A rough, snapped pontil mark is visible on the underside of the base, confirming the hand-blown construction. No signatures or maker marks are present.
Bowl width: 150mm.
