Description
A lead crystal footed bowl of flared trumpet form manufactured by Stuart Crystal. The body features a deep-cut diamond cross-hatch pattern terminating at a plain flared rim with a scalloped edge. The vessel sits upon a spreading circular foot decorated with radial bladed mitre cuts to the underside. The interior rim is etched with the house flag of the White Star Line shipping company, depicting a swallow-tail pennant containing a central five-pointed star. The base of the bowl bears the acid-etched maker mark Stuart in a stylised serif font. The underside of the foot is hand-engraved with the characters 56-1911.
