Description
A mid-20th century writing set comprising a pair of dip pen holders and a collection of replacement nibs. The two tapered holders are manufactured from a marbled green and ochre celluloid, featuring a ringed grip section and a metal internal collar designed to secure standard nibs. The collection of steel nibs is predominantly composed of gilt steel examples marked John Heath’s Telephone Pen 0278-F, signifying a fine point grade. These nibs were produced by the John Heath company of Birmingham, United Kingdom. The collection also includes a single polished silver-toned steel nib marked Platernal. The items are housed in a rectangular Staedtler Tradition metal storage tin with a red lithographed lid and black base, featuring the manufacturer’s Mars head logo and silver-toned branding.
