Mason's Ironstone Mandalay Pattern Hexagonal Ashtray

A Mason’s Ironstone hexagonal ashtray decorated in the Mandalay pattern. The piece is constructed from ironstone ceramic and features a combination of transfer-printed and hand-painted decoration. The design consists of orientalist-style floral sprays in shades of coral, pink, and ochre, set against a white ground with deep cobalt blue scrolling elements. The rim and the three integrated double cigarette rests are finished with hand-applied gold gilding. The base bears a brown printed factory mark featuring a crown above a banner inscribed IRONSTONE MADE IN ENGLAND. The pattern name Mandalay appears in cursive script alongside a copyright symbol and the words PRINTED AND HAND PAINTED. Two small hand-painted red marks are also visible on the underside.
