Description
A Moorcroft earthenware vase decorated in the Anemone pattern. This small baluster-shaped vessel features a flared rim and a slightly raised circular foot. The decoration is executed using the tubelining technique, with hand-painted underglaze colours depicting large-scale anemone flower heads in shades of red and blue with green foliage. The design is set against a deep cobalt blue ground finished with a high-gloss glaze. The base of the vase retains a circular paper label reading BY APPOINTMENT. followed by a royal coat of arms, a cursive Moorcroft signature, and the text POTTERS TO THE LATE QUEEN MARY. The word ENGLAND is stamped directly onto the ceramic base in green.
