An Anglo-Indian style brass tray-top occasional table with folding wooden stand, 20th century
Description
An occasional table featuring a removable circular brass tray top. The tray is decorated with chased and repoussé floral and foliate motifs to the centre and a raised rim. It rests upon a three-piece interlocking hand-carved dark wood folding stand of spider leg form. The wood construction is characteristic of sheesham or teak. No maker’s marks are present. A small white auction label numbered 5847 is attached to the rim.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The brass tray exhibits surface tarnish, oxidation, and minor scuffing consistent with age and use. The wooden stand is structurally sound with minor surface wear and small scuffs to the extremities. One arm shows natural wood grain variation and carving marks typical of hand-crafted construction.
