G86 Weekly General Auction Monday
Lot 41:
Description
A mid-20th-century Sommerso art glass vessel, attributed to the Chribska glassworks of the former Czechoslovakia and designed by Josef Hospodka. This piece is known as the Cat’s Head design, featuring a tricolour construction with an inner layer of cranberry pink glass above a layer of amber, both encased within a heavy clear glass body. The vessel is formed in an organic, free-form shape with four pulled lobes at the rim, two of which are extended into wing-like protrusions characteristic of the pattern. The piece is stylistically consistent with Bohemian glass production from the 1960s. No maker marks or signatures are present.
Width: 150mm.
