Small Three-Drawer Hardwood Chest with Metal Appliques

A small rustic-style chest of three drawers in the form of a merchant box, constructed from a dark-stained hardwood such as mango or sheesham wood. The rectangular top features an overhanging edge and is embellished with circular metal bosses and three central metal appliques, including two floral motifs and a central diamond-shaped piece. The front elevation contains three square drawers, each fitted with a metal ring-pull handle on a circular backplate. The carcase is reinforced with dark metal corner straps to the sides. The piece exhibits a heavily grained, tactile finish. A black and gold paper tag is attached, printed with the words HAND CRAFTED IN INDIA FOR C.G.B.
