G86 Weekly General Auction Monday
Lot 322:
Description
This collection of vintage British breweriana consists of promotional items for the Babycham brand, produced by Showerings of Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The lot comprises six glass champagne coupes and a moulded plastic point-of-sale display figure. Each glass features a printed graphic of the brand’s mascot, a leaping yellow chamois with a blue bow, on the bowl. The foot of each glass bears the word BABYCHAM in blue, block capital letters. The collection includes examples from different production runs, with some glasses featuring gilded rims and others featuring plain rims. The display figure is constructed from moulded plastic or composite material, finished in a pale yellow and ochre tone with white accents on the face and hooves, blue eyes, and a turquoise-blue bow. The figure features a single vertical protrusion on the top of the head between the ears, designed to hold promotional signage.
