A Print of the pencil (graphite) drawing on paper by Ernest Howard Shepard (British, 1879-1976), depicting the character Eeyore from A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh. The illustration shows the donkey standing at a riverbank beneath the sprawling branches of a tree, rendered in a loose, expressive sketch style. Signed lower left: E.H. Shepard. Further pencil inscriptions below the image include the quote ‘Looked at himself in the water again’, along with p. 71, Chap. VI, p 71, Winnie the Pooh, and the date 1926. The work is presented in an off-white mount and a black frame with a gilt inner-slip.
