Description

This collection of three heraldic souvenir items was manufactured by the W.H. Goss factory in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The pieces are constructed from fine white porcelain and feature a distinctive moulded sack or pouch form with vertical ribbing and blue enamel rope-effect accents. The trio consists of a small teapot with a matching lid, a lidded marmalade pot, and a small beaker with a flared, scalloped rim. Each item is decorated with a transfer-printed heraldic crest representing a British seaside town. The teapot features the crest for Clovelly, the marmalade pot displays the crest for Llandudno with the lid inscribed Marmalade. in black stylized script, and the beaker shows the crest for Birchington. The pieces are finished with hand-painted gilding to the rims and finials. The base of the porcelain bears the printed W.H. Goss factory mark of an eagle perched upon a horizontal bar, accompanied by a hand-painted gold tally mark.
