A Trio of Mason's Mandalay Pattern Ironstone Graduated Jugs

A set of three graduated ironstone jugs produced by Mason’s in the Mandalay pattern. Each vessel is designed with an octagonal body, a wide pouring spout featuring a scalloped rim, and a scrolled handle with foliate thumb rests. The decoration is executed through a combination of transfer-printing and hand-painting, depicting a floral arrangement of pink peony-style blooms and cobalt blue foliage, further detailed with green and ochre leaves. The pieces are finished with extensive gilt highlights along the floral motifs, rims, and handles. The bases of the two larger jugs are marked with the Mason’s crown symbol above a banner containing the words Ironstone and Made in England, accompanied by the pattern name Mandalay in cursive script and the phrase Printed and Hand Painted. The smallest jug bears the Mason’s crown mark with the pattern name Mandalay and Made in England.
