Description
This lot comprises two pieces of Wedgwood jasperware stoneware accompanied by original packaging and ephemera. The first item is a heart-shaped trinket dish featuring a pale blue ground with white sprigged bas-relief decoration. The central motif depicts a classical female figure holding a garland, encircled by an oak leaf and acorn border. The base is impressed with the mark WEDGWOOD followed by a copyright symbol, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the characters CG and 68. The second item is a circular commemorative dish or coaster featuring a dark blue ground. The central white bas-relief decoration depicts a profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II above a banner inscribed 1952 SILVER JUBILEE 1977, all within a laurel leaf border. The base is impressed with the mark WEDGWOOD followed by a copyright symbol, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the characters CO and 76. The lot includes an original purple Wedgwood presentation box with a patterned lid and a commemorative pamphlet titled The Queen’s Silver Jubilee 1952-1977.
